About

Many adoption profile designers started out as hopeful adoptive parents. They learned the ins and outs of designing their own profiles through research and trial and error. They had first-hand experience of the adoption process.

Not me. I’ll be honest with you. I’m not an adoptive parent.

My name is Darlyn Stephens and I’m a married (10+ years) work at home mom of two beautiful, homeschooled kids. I built this site for two reasons. First of all, back when I was merely 4 years old living in an impoverished part of the Philippines, I was adopted by a kind, sweet, gentle man who to this very day I love dearly with all my heart. A world of opportunities opened up for me when I was adopted, but I didn’t understand that until I was older.

Secondly, I wanted to give back somehow for the blessing of having a wonderful person adopt me. Yet I wasn’t sure how I was going to do that. So while that lingered in the back of my mind, I went to a technical school and received a degree in multimedia and graphic design because of my love of art and computers.

One day I was talking to my mother-in-law’s coworker who was in the adoption process. She had already adopted a son the year before. She told me that she was working on the photo collage that she was going to give to the adoption agency. I gave her a few helpful pointers that she took into consideration.

When I went home that day, it hit me that there are other couples who might need my help in designing adoption profiles. So here we are today.
